About the Author

 

Susan Donoho is a Christian writer, intercessor, and founder of A Letter to the World, a global ministry humbly devoted to proclaiming the sovereignty of God, the redeeming work of Jesus Christ, and the importance of divine order, ordained authority, and faithful prayer for the nations.

Susan became a Christian at the age of ten. During childhood, she had a dream in which Jesus appeared as her teacher. He took her by the hand, and together they walked—first through the United States, then across the ocean to another continent, where He knelt beside a stream, drew out a stone, and taught her from it. From there they traveled to several continents, teaching as they traveled, walking hand in hand, then home again. Along the way, learning at His side was pure joy—she looked up at Him, delighted, eager for whatever He would teach next. Then she looked down and saw that she was wearing the very same brown tunic He wore, and she was overjoyed to find herself so identified with Him. That childhood dream became an early picture of the relationship that would shape her life: walking with Jesus, listening to His instruction, and learning to see the world through His eyes.  Her father received Isaiah 54:13 that week:  And your children shall be taught of the Lord, and great shall be their peace.

Her faith has been formed through Scripture, prayer, Jesus leadership, family life, theological study, professional leadership, and seasons requiring courage, perseverance, and deep dependence upon the Lord. Her writing grows from this lifelong relationship with God and from a sincere desire to remain faithful to what He has entrusted to her.

Susan's calling to the presence of God, and the worship arts broadened into prophetic prayer for people, and to intercessory prayer in 1990 when she was asked to pray for her pastor. What began as one focused assignment gradually widened as the Lord led her to pray for her church, city, state, regions of the country, the United States, and eventually multiple nations.

From 2000 through 2020, she carried a sustained burden of prayer for the United States. The symbol of the Key of Knowledge, the Key to open and close, came into her life along with the Lion of Judah. Over time, her intercession continued to expand beyond the borders of one nation.

In November 2023, this calling developed into an intentional and disciplined assignment to pray for the leaders of the world. Susan began studying leaders by name, together with their nations, governments, cultures, faith traditions, and responsibilities. She sought to pray beyond headlines, political divisions, and personal opinions—to understand the people, places, and systems entrusted to each leader's care.

Through this disciplined work, a larger vision emerged: to help God's people learn how to pray thoughtfully, biblically, strategically, and faithfully for those entrusted with authority.

While Susan was in prayer, she heard these words:

The assignment did not originate as Susan's idea or personal ambition. Her first response was disbelief. The thought of writing something addressed to the world felt far beyond her ability and much larger than anything she would have chosen for herself.

She wrestled with the instruction before the Lord, asking in essence, “Really, Lord? You want me to write this?”

Shortly afterward, on May 3, 2025, a horse named Sovereignty won the Kentucky Derby.

To Susan, the timing was unmistakably personal. While the victory was a public event witnessed by millions, she received it privately as confirmation of what she had already heard in prayer: the message was to concern the sovereignty of God, and she was to be faithful to write it.

Sovereignty's victory did not create the assignment. It confirmed the assignment Susan had already received and was struggling to accept.

The name remains a continuing reminder that no nation is beyond God's sight, no leader is beyond the reach of prayer, and no human event falls outside His ultimate authority. God alone is sovereign over all, and every earthly authority remains accountable beneath His rule.

A Letter to the World was born from that instruction—not from a desire to create a platform, but from a desire to obey.

Recognizing a prophetic dimension to her calling, Susan seeks to listen carefully to the Holy Spirit while grounding and testing her prayers and writing in the Word of God.

Her attention is continually drawn to Jesus Christ, our great High Priest, and to the heavenly altar of incense, where the prayers of God's people are offered before His throne. From this place of worship and intercession, she prays for leaders—not merely in reaction to political events or according to human opinion, but with a desire to understand the purposes, mercy, justice, wisdom, counsel, and sovereignty of God.

Susan believes God has not abandoned the nations. Scripture reveals His redemptive concern for humanity and tells us that the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. His wisdom speaks to every dimension of life, including leadership, justice, government, family, work, stewardship, mercy, and peace.

Under God's ultimate sovereignty, nations are entrusted with authority, responsibility, jurisdiction, justice, and stewardship. Each possesses a distinct identity, history, culture, language, treasury. This understanding calls believers to approach the nations neither with fear nor hostility, but with reverence, wisdom, compassion, and informed prayer.

Through her work, Susan invites people to move beyond fear, political hostility, and cultural division into biblical understanding, spiritual maturity, faithful intercession, and godly action that align with the principles of the Scepter of Righteousness.

Susan brings both spiritual conviction and practical structure to her work. Her professional background includes organizational development, business, marketing, technology, real estate asset management, and regulatory compliance.

She holds an Associate of Science in Computer Programming and Computer Logic, a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Development, and a Master of Business Administration.

Susan is the founder of D.R.E.A.M. LLC—Donoho Real Estate Asset Management—and Digital Gold LLC. Her experience as a business founder and professional leader has strengthened her understanding of stewardship, organizational health, communication, responsibility, and accountability.

A central theme throughout Susan's work is the relationship between roles, responsibilities, rights, authority, and accountability. She explores how these principles, rightly understood and practiced, can help establish healthy individuals, families, churches, organizations, communities, and governments.

Susan is developing books, prayer guides, biblical studies, and teaching resources to equip others to pray for world leaders and nations, the United States and its communities, families, homes, and individuals. Her work also addresses biblical honor, sovereignty, spiritual maturity, healthy authority, and the responsibility of God's people to become fruitful with what He has entrusted to them.

Susan is a wife, the mother of three adult sons, and a lifelong encourager of the gifts and callings God places within people.

She writes from the United States with a heart for every nation, language, and people. Her desire is not only to offer prayers for the world, but also to help others understand how to pray for leaders, how to approach a nation before God, and how to recognize His sovereignty without losing sight of human responsibility.
